RICHARD GALE OPTICS CLAVIUS

The heart of this lens set is the Russian 58mm f2 Helios. It has a cult following due to it’s swirly bokeh and flares, and is a legendary portait lens. Richard Gale Optics uses the Helios 58mm F2 lens as a base for the set, building a 28mm, 38mm, 58mm, 85mm T2 with the Helios 44-1 58mm as their core.

These lenses maintain the Helios’ beautiful bokeh and flares across all 4 lenses. However due to interchangeable aperture inserts you can tune the look and feel of your footage. Faux anamorphic, warm, or cool flares can take your look to the next level.

The lenses have full frame sensor coverage, 95mm fronts, and their PL mounts can work on EF with the included adapter. Included in the set is a Century Optics 0.8x wide angle adapter that will make the 28mm a 22mm and maintain full frame coverage and the T2 wide open aperture. WA adapter has a 143mm front to work with clip on matteboxes (converted by duclos. Avail Sept 2024).
